The Story in Short
A jackal and a camel were friends who crossed a river together to eat crops on the other side. The camel would carry the jackal on his back across the water. After eating his fill quickly, the jackal would howl, which made the farmers come running.
By the time the farmers arrived, the jackal had run off, but the slow camel was caught and beaten while still eating. The jackal did this again and again, thinking only of himself.
One day, on the way back across the river, the camel decided to teach the selfish jackal a lesson. In the middle of the deep water, he dipped down for a roll, and the jackal, unable to swim, was tossed into the river. The selfish jackal learned that his tricks had consequences.
Moral of the Story
Selfish behaviour brings trouble in return. We should think of our friends, not just ourselves.
