The Story in Short
A washerman had a donkey that worked hard but was always hungry. One night the washerman covered the donkey with a tiger’s skin and let him into the green fields, so people would think a tiger was there and stay away, letting the donkey eat freely.
The plan worked, and each night the disguised donkey ate the best crops. Growing bold and greedy, the donkey ate more and more.
One night, hearing a female donkey braying far away, the foolish donkey brayed loudly in reply. The farmers realised it was only a donkey in a tiger’s skin, and they chased and beat him. His greed and foolishness had brought him trouble.
